Pet Services Community DogVacay Scores $15M Series B
October 11, 2013
DogVacay.com, an online and mobile community that connects dog parents in need of pet-care services like boarding, pet sitting and doggie daycare with qualified pet caregivers, has raised $15 million in Series B funding led by Foundation Capital. Round participants also included current investors Benchmark and First Round Capital and new investors DAG Ventures and Sherpa Ventures. The company provides dog owners access to more than 10,000 qualified and trusted hosts across the nation for less than half the cost of a kennel, with every booking including free pet insurance and 24/7 customer support.
The capital infusion, which brings DogVacay’s total to-date funding to $22 million, will enable the company to further invest in customer service offerings that help it tap into the $11 billion pet care industry. Prior to the Series B, DogVacay most recently raised a $6 million Series A round in 2012, garnering a $20 million valuation at the time.
