Platinum Boxing Up Contego Healthcare, Selling to Filtrona
March 21, 2013
Platinum Equity has agreed to sell Contego Healthcare, a portfolio company that makes packaging for the healthcare industry, to a subsidiary of Filtrona for a cash consideration of £160 million ($242 million). Contego makes cartons, leaflets, self-adhesive labels and printed foils for blister packs for the pharmaceutical and healthcare markets. Platinum Equity acquired the business from Nampak in 2011, and under its ownership, the company built two new factories and made major investments in printing and folding technology.
