Polaris Private Equity is divesting its 75% stake in Skånska Byggvaror to Byggmax (STO: BMAX). The acquisition is worth up to SEK851 million (€91M)—SEK741 million for all shares and an additional SEK110 million based on the company’s financial performance in 2016. Polaris is reportedly generating a 5x return from the deal, which is expected to close in 4Q. Founded in 1965, Skånska Byggvaror is an online-based retailer of building products, with operations in Sweden and Norway. In the past 12 months, the company had net sales of SEK690 million and EBITDA of SEK53 million (before non-recurring items). Polaris had acquired Skånska Byggvaror in 2012.
