Potbelly, a fast-casual sandwich restaurant chain, priced its IPO at $14 per share and went public. The $14 price point was above the expected range of $12 to $13. Potbelly, which now trades on the NASDAQ under the symbol PBPB, has received VC funding since 2001 and raised about $132 million in VC funding to date, including a round of about $58 million in 2006. Potbelly backers include Maveron (28.2% pre-IPO stake), American Securities (12.9%), Oak Investment Partners (12.2%), Oxford Capital Group (7.9%) and Benchmark Capital (7.7%), among others. The company ended its first day of trading at $30.77, up almost 120%.
