Practically Green, a provider of digital sustainability engagement programs, has closed a $3 million Series A round of funding led by CommonAngels and Pan Asia Solar, with support from Clean Energy Venture Group and Launchpad Venture Group. The company pairs content with proven social and game mechanics to make embracing new sustainability-focused behaviors more fun. Through the platform, users can join projects or competitions, complete many different actions and measure their progress and impact.
Practically Green will use the funds for product development, continued development of sustainability and CSR engagement programs and further sales and marketing goals. The company has now raised about $5 million in VC funding to date. Its valuation doubled from $4 million after a seed round in 2011 to $8.2 million with the new investment.
