137 investors have invested in 155 companies in the Energy Services industry since the beginning of 2007, according to the PitchBook Platform. There were 62 completed or announced deals in 2007, 51 in 2008 and 33 in 2009. With 16 deals during the first half of 2010, this year is on pace to match last year in deal counts. The most active sector in the industry is Energy Transportation, which accounts for 43 of the 162 deals during the time period. Energy Storage and Infrastructure have also proven to be popular with investors, attracting 26 deals each. The most active investors include Energy Capital Partners (11 deals), The Carlyle Group (10) and ArcLight Capital Partners (7).
