Electric bus manufacturer Proterra has raised $30 million in financing for its zero-emission EV transit technology. The round was led by Kleiner Perkins and GM Ventures, and participated in by other existing investors. The company is hoping to close another $10 million in the coming weeks, which would bring the total funding to $40 million. It currently has buses operating in 11 cities around the U.S. that have logged over 400,000 miles. Proterra raised a Series C round of over $34 million at a valuation of almost $178 million in late 2013.
