Qualcomm to Invest up to $150M in India's Startups

Qualcomm (NASDAQ: QCOM) has announced it will invest up to $150 million in Indian startup companies across all stages, Qualcomm Ventures will advise and direct the activities. The announcement came after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent visit to the U.S., as India looks to work with major tech companies to partner in the build-out of the country's digital infrastructure. Already an active investor in India, Qualcomm Ventures' recent investments include Portea Medical, a provider of home medical care services, and YourStory, a digital news site with articles pertaining to startups and entrepreneurs.
