Steven Rattner has settled two lawsuits by the New York attorney general's office concerning the New York pension fund pay-to-play scandal. Although Mr. Rattner has not admitted to any wrongdoing, he has agreed to pay $10 million and to stay away from New York's public pension funds for five years. He settled with the SEC in a related case in November. Among the terms of that settlement was an agreement to pay $6.2 million. The latest settlement also brings the New York pension fund scandal to a close with a total of $170 million in fines from a number of PE firms and other individuals.
