Anonymous social app Secret is shutting its doors and reportedly repaying its investors. The company had raised $35 million in funding, including a $25 million Series B round in July that valued it at $130 million. VC backers include Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Google Ventures, SV Angel and a trove of others. Launched in February 2014 and used by more than 15 million people during its time, Secret enabled the sharing of comments and information with no identifiers other than the approximate location of the sender. It had received criticism from the public for facilitating a space for cyber bullying and had been banned in Brazil.
