SK Capital Carving Out Three Businesses from Clariant

SK Capital Partners has agreed to acquire Clariant's Textile Chemicals, Paper Specialties and Emulsions businesses in a transaction that includes approximately $500 million in cash. SK Capital will also be assuming certain pension liabilities. Jefferies & Company is providing debt financing for the deal. The Clariant divisions involved have brands and technologies in dyes, pigments, emulsions and surface active chemicals used in the textile, paper, coatings, construction and adhesive industries. SK Capital focuses on the specialty materials, chemicals and healthcare sectors, and is currently investing from its SK Capital Partners III fund.
