Deal count for the country hit 80 in 2013, the highest level in six years; the surge in activity could be partly attributed to the slowly recovering Eurozone economy. Vitruvian's investment in ASP4all Bitbrains, which provides application hosting and cloud services, illustrates the solid PE activity in the country's IT space. IT has been third most active industry for PE investment in the country since the start of 2007 and experienced an increase in deal flow in 2013 with 12 deals, representing 15% of the country's overall deal flow for the year and up from seven in 2012. Over the same time period, the two most active industries have been B2B and B2C. At 49% of the Netherlands' PE deals in 2013, B2B more than doubled its 2012 performance, while B2C stayed relatively steady with 18 and 17 deals in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
