SolarBridge Technologies, a provider of microinverters and monitoring technology for solar modules, has closed a $42 million funding round led by Constellation Technology Ventures, with participation from previous investors Shea Ventures, Rho Ventures and Prelude Ventures. In conjunction with the investment, Constellation's Michael Smith will join the company's Board of Directors. The new round adds to a long list of completed financings for SolarBridge, including a $25 million Series D1 in 2012 and an $8 million Series C1 in 2011.
SolarBridge offers solar module manufacturers and installers a solution designed to make rooftop solar simpler, more cost-efficient and more reliable, accelerating the adoption of solar energy in the residential and commercial markets. The company will use the new capital to expand sales and marketing and continue its focus on research and development as it scales its customer base across North America and Australia.
