Storytelling Platform Contently Locks Up $9M in Series B Funds

Contently, a marketplace that connects journalists with publishers, has secured a $9 million Series B funding round led by Sigma Prime and Sigma West. The company, which previously raised $2 million of Series A1 funding in 2012, will use the new capital to continue growing and serving its freelance network, as well as to expand its content marketing software features.
Contently connects brands that have a need to create engaging stories with freelancers who need work, providing the technology needed to manage the workflow of content creation. Contently's clients include over 40 Fortune 500 companies and its freelance network is approaching 30,000.
