Sycamore Reportedly Nears Deal to Acquire Chico's FAS

Sycamore Partners is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire Chico's FAS (NYSE: CHS) in a transaction potentially valued at more than $3 billion. Chico's boasts a brand portfolio of four specialty retailers of private label women's apparel, accessories and related products; the company operates 1,450 boutiques and outlets throughout the U.S. and Canada. Sycamore, which was established in 2011, focuses its investments in the consumer and retail space, already holding similar portfolio companies such as Talbots and Stuart Weitzman. CHS stock closed Wednesday at $18.24, up 5.74%.
