TaxiForSure, an online cab service, has raised $30 million (INR 1.8 billion) in VC funding led by existing investor Accel Partners, with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners and Helion Venture Partners. The raise comes just over four months after TaxiForSure raised $10 million (INR 625 million) in Series B financing from the same investors and BlumeVenture Advisors. Currently available in six cities, the company has provided 2 million rides in August and has plans to expand its operations into six more markets in the next few months. TaxiForSure joins other on-demand cab and ride sharing companies such GetTaxi and Uber to raise VC funding in 2014. Those companies, however, raised $150 million and $1.2 billion respectively.
