Since the beginning of 2009, VC investors have completed 191 global deals involving real estate services companies, according to the PitchBook Platform. Both capital invested and the number of deals completed each year have increased during that timeframe, which has logged a total of $852 million in funding thus far. The increase in completed deals from 2009 to 2011 was minimal, rising from 18 to 21, but the increase over the next two years was much more impressive; the number of completed deals tripled from 21 in 2011 to 64 in 2013. Capital invested during that same stretch shot up by more than 100%, climbing from $130 million to $262 million.
