As ways are continually found to bypass cybersecurity protocols, network security providers should continue to see heavy venture capital investment. Since the beginning of 2010, the number of VC deals in cybersecurity companies worldwide has increased each year, according to PitchBook data, reaching highs in both count and value in 2014—110 and $1.85 billion, respectively. During those five-plus years, more than 400 VC investors participated in at least one deal, about half of which have invested within the past 12 months. 59 of the firms manage between $200 million and $500 million of assets, while 65 manage $1 billion to $5 billion.
