VCs are on pace to complete fewer deals in the global healthcare devices & supplies space in 2Q than any other quarter in nearly a decade, according to the PitchBook Platform. However, the median size of each deal so far in the quarter—$14.2 million—has reached an all-time high. Over the past three years, 827 VC investors have completed at least one deal in the healthcare devices & supplies industry, with the combined value of such deals adding up to more than $10 billion. The subsectors receiving the largest portions of the deal flow have been: diagnostic equipment (27%), therapeutic devices (25%), surgical devices (18%) and monitoring equipment (10%). 400 of the firms have invested in the space over the past 12 months.
