Earlier this month, Harvest Partners’ AxelaCare Health Solutions acquired a company that provides intravenous therapy (e.g. antibiotics, hydration, nutrition) inside the homes of its patients. The deal inspired a wider look at PE investors active in healthcare services since the start of 2005; the PitchBook Platform-powered search shows that Harvest Partners is far from alone this year. In fact, 2014 is on pace for about 264 deals in the space, which would be a decade high by about 9%.
Overall, more than 700 investors have targeted the industry in the past 10 years, 168 of which have made deals in the past 12 months. 288 of the firms manage assets of $1 billion or more, while another 91 have AUM between $500 million and $1 billion.
