Roughly 450 PE investors have completed at least one deal in the global healthcare services sector over the past three years, according to the PitchBook Platform, with 2014 recording 27% YoY growth in dealmaking. Last year, firms completed 334 transactions in the space, a decade record. The driving subsector within healthcare services involves clinics and other providers of outpatient services, a trend that appears to fall right in line with ever-popular consolidation strategies; add-ons represent nearly 42% of such deals in this three-year timeframe. Of the 450 investors, about half have participated in at least one deal over the past 12 months.
