Over the past 12 months, 94 U.S.-based VC investors have completed at least one deal in Asia, participating in financings valued at a combined $8 billion, according to PitchBook's database; nearly 90% of that capital has been invested in China and India. As the mobile and web-based markets grow in both countries—and the region as a whole—VCs have made about 200 investments in B2C and IT companies, representing 72% of the total deal count. 18 of the firms have participated in five deals or more during the timeframe, while 56 have made at least one investment in the past six months. Of all the investors, 17 manage between $100 million and $1 billion of assets, with another 26 managing between $1 billion and $5 billion.
