For a rumored $225 million, TPG has agreed to increase its investment in Creative Artists Agency to a majority position. With management extending long-term contracts, the move will provide additional capital and resources for CAA's growth. Through various strategic marketing and consulting practices, CAA advises consumer brands such as General Motors and Chipotle; its sports division has more than 1,000 individual clients and $3 billion+ in property sales deals for clients including Madison Square Garden, FC Barcelona and Yankee Stadium. TPG first backed CAA in 2010. The deal is one of the higher-profile, showbiz-related PE investments this year, along with Silver Lake's WME purchasing IMG Worldwide for about $2.4 billion.
