Platinum Equity has entered into a definitive agreement to sell AEES to PKC Group for €109 million in cash ($155 million) and €1.25 million ($1.78 million) in newly issued PKC shares. AEES manufactures wire harnesses and electrical distribution products for automotive original equipment manufacturers and tier-one suppliers. The company was acquired by Platinum Equity in 2009.
Since the beginning of 2008, PE investors have exited 83 companies involved in the Transportation industry, according to the PitchBook Platform. Although 2011's deal pace is lagging behind 2010's, the median exit size for 2011 to date is almost double last year's.
