Education technology provider MasteryConnect has raised $15.2 million in Series B funding. Trinity Ventures led the round, with Pelion Ventures and Catamount Ventures participating. As part of the financing, Larry Orr of Trinity will join the Board of Directors. The funding is the second raised by MasteryConnect this year (it closed its Series A on nearly $9 million several months ago) and brings the company's total in private funding to over $24 million.
MasteryConnect's platform enables educators to monitor student understanding in real-time, personalize learning and thereby improve outcomes for students in K-12 education. Its technology is used in 85% of U.S. school districts and more than 175 other countries, reaching 21 million students and 1 million teachers.
