Round Hill Music has closed Round Hill Music Royalty Fund with $202 million in committed capital and an additional $7.4 million in co-investment funds. The firm, dedicated to acquiring music publishing assets, exceeded its target of $200 million for its debut fund. RHM invests in music copyrights with an emphasis on iconic compositions that generate annuity-like royalty cash flow; it has already committed more than $60 million in 20 music catalog acquisitions and co-publishing agreements. Its 10,000+ song portfolio includes work from the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and James Brown, among others. Recently RHM acquired the publishing rights of rock band Tesla and the catalog of Big Tractor Music. Forbes Private Capital Group served as exclusive placement agent, and Kirkland & Ellis provided fund formation counsel.
