Unitus Seeks to Combat Poverty in India with Seed Fund

Unitus Seed Fund, launched in early 2012 as part of the Seattle-based Unitus Group, has announced it has raised $8 million in commitments to focus on low-income startups in India. 500 Startups and numerous individual investors from big-name venture and private equity groups, such as Khosla Ventures and Bain Capital, contributed to the fund. USF anticipates making 10 new investments in 2013, in addition to four completed in 2012.
