Up Rounds on the Rise in U.S., Down Rounds Declining

Since midway through 2010, more than half of the VC deals completed each quarter in the U.S. have been "up rounds"—those done at valuations higher than their previous rounds. In 3Q 2014, specifically, up rounds accounted for 69% of all completed financings, the highest portion since the financial crisis.
