VC Investments Plentiful in Therapeutic Devices Space
April 24, 2013
Since the beginning of 2011, VC investors have funded 162 U.S.-headquartered Therapeutic Devices companies, according to the PitchBook Platform. The West Coast accounted for the largest portion of the investments in the space (46%) during that timeframe, including the largest deal: Sangart’s $100.8 million financing. About 17% of the deals in the industry since 2011 occurred in the Northeast, while the rest of the deal count was spread out relatively evenly across the remaining U.S. regions, each accounting for between 3% and 12% of the activity.
