Gaming and similar forms of entertainment have evolved. These days, gamers can enjoy their favorite video games on many different platforms. As the number of mediums for video games and other entertainment software has increased, investments in the space have as well. Since the beginning of 2010, VC investors have invested in 112 U.S.-headquartered entertainment software companies, according to the PitchBook Platform. During that timeframe, the deal count in the space each year has increased, exactly tripling from 23 deals completed in 2010 to 69 in 2012. The largest deals in the industry since 2010 were for Daisy and Gazillion Entertainment, which both scored $60 million financings.
