Veeva Systems has gone public, pricing its IPO at $20 per share and listing on the NYSE under the symbol VEEV. The company, which provides cloud-based software for the global life sciences industry, had initially set its expected price range for between $12 and $14 per share, later revising the range to $16 to $18 per share. Veeva raised $7 million in VC funding prior to going public, including, most recently, a Series B investment in 2008 that valued the company at $20 million. Backers include Emergence Capital Partners, which held a 31.1% stake in the company prior to the offering. Veeva ended its first day of trading at $37.16.
