VigLink, a platform on which site-to-site clicks are priced, bought and sold, has raised additional funds for its Series C round, bringing the total to $20 million. The round was initially announced in June with $18 million raised. Prior to the Series C, Viglink had raised over $7 million in VC funding, seeing its valuation rise to $20 million at the time of its $5.4 million Series B in early 2011.
VigLink has also announced its acquisition of LinkSmart, a publisher network with over 1 billion page views per month. The transaction will give LinkSmart's network access to the VigLink platform in order to help create more revenue opportunities for its publishers. LinkSmart was backed by Foundry Group and Costanoa Venture Capital, which, alongside the acquisition, provided the additional capital to VigLink's Series C.
