Xtera Communications has filed an expected price range of $9 to $11 for its upcoming IPO. The company, which plans to list shares on the NASDAQ under the symbol XCOM, would raise $55 million and be valued at roughly $176.1 million if shares are priced at the midpoint. Xtera is a provider of optical transport solutions to telecomm service providers, content service providers, enterprises and government entities worldwide. For the nine months ended June 30, the company generated $43.7 million in revenue for a net loss of $10.1 million. Backers include New Enterprise Associates (23.4% pre-IPO stake), The Wellcome Trust (15.5%) and ARCH Venture Partners (13.1%).
