PitchBook Launches Data On-Demand with New API and Datafeed Offering
New API and Datafeed make it easier than ever to access PitchBook’s rich venture capital, private equity and M&A insights—directly.
SEATTLE – (June 6, 2016) – PitchBook Data Inc., a leading provider of global venture capital, private equity and M&A data, today announced the launch of its API and Datafeed—two separate product offerings that allow users to bring data currently housed in the PitchBook Platform directly into their existing tools, systems and software. API and Datafeed were developed to provide PitchBook clients with an efficient way to access PitchBook’s robust company, professionals, investors and deal data directly within their existing workflow.
"We’re always looking for better ways to serve our customers and we understand the value of having data how you want it, whenever and wherever you need it most. Both API and Datafeed meet those needs," said Founder and CEO John Gabbert. "This makes it easy for our clients to leverage our data in the most efficient and productive way possible, so they can focus on their job, their goals and ultimately their efforts to build the great companies of tomorrow.”
With the launch of these features, users can now access PitchBook’s comprehensive VC, PE and M&A data in three major ways: PitchBook API, Datafeed and the PitchBook Platform. PitchBook’s API is a more flexible, á la carte solution that enables users to request specific data points as they need them. Datafeed provides a solution for firms who need a wider range of information on a consistent basis. PitchBook’s award winning workstation, the PitchBook Platform, along with its mobile app and Excel Plugin are also available to teams who have private market and company research and analysis needs.
“For the last nine years we’ve focused on taking great data and powering it with an intuitive and clean user interface, which we’ve done with the PitchBook Platform. API and Datafeed came out of our dedication to find better ways to meet the needs of our customers,” said Angus Fan, Director of Product at PitchBook. “In this case, a better way came down to providing our clients access to the raw data. We’re excited to see how our clients utilize these new tools to power their businesses.”
