How much executives are paid can vary widely from industry to industry.
That rang true when we connected with J.Thelander Consulting, a compensation data firm, to examine the gender pay gap for CEOs. Filtering the data into two buckets—tech and biotech—revealed some clear similarities and differences:
• In tech, women are generally paid less in both total cash and equity.
• In biotech, women make less in total cash but receive more in equity.
• Across the board, the total number of women in these positions is quite low.
