Home Automation Startups Now Have Their Own Accelerator
June 23, 2014
Are you an entrepreneur building products that make homes safer and smarter?
If so, you’re in luck: Microsoft has partnered with American Family Insurance to launch a new Microsoft Ventures Accelerator focused on home automation. The application deadline for the first batch of startups closes this Friday, July 25th.
For you entrepreneurs plus everyone else out there with an interest in the Internet of Things and home automation space, we’ve pulled some numbers from the PitchBook Platform that you can check out in our datagraphic below. According to PitchBook, home automation makes up 21% of the global capital invested in the Internet of Things industry, and 2013 saw a substantial uptick in deal flow for both categories. We’re keeping an eye on this growing dataset and thrilled to see programs like Microsoft’s established to accelerate the pace.
