A group of our technology and venture analysts from both Morningstar and PitchBook attended CES this year to meet with and research various public and private companies. As reported by our analysts, the focus at CES has continued to evolve and diversify away from smartphones, tablets and PCs and toward industrial, automotive, IoT and health applications. Across our public and private research coverage, we remain most impressed with the push toward active safety systems in automobiles, autonomous driving (including our self-driving car ride with Lyft) and transportation technology.

On the public side, Morningstar analysts remain impressed with Intel's push into transportation via its acquisition of Mobileye. They also remain bullish on STMicroelectronics as they view the firm as far more than an Apple iPhone supplier and appreciate its diversified product portfolio as it continues to push into automotive. PitchBook analysts also held several interesting meetings with private companies, such as uBeam and Intellithings in the IoT space, Wearable Health PLC and Bongmi in the HealthTech space, and Cognate and Seoul Robotics in the LiDar and transportation tech industries.
