Powered by PitchBook, the report offers a full representation of U.S. private equity deal activity, exits and performance in the industry with a focus on trends from the first quarter of 2012.
The 2Q 2012 IT Deal Flow Profile highlights the following trends:
Private equity firms carried the deal-making momentum generated in the IT industry during the end of 2011 into 1Q 2012, closing 55 deals totaling $10.83.
Software continued to be the main driver of IT deal-making in 1Q 2012, accounting for more than half (55 percent) of all deals and almost half (45 percent) of all exits.
Private equity firms exited 20 IT investments during 1Q 2012, better than any individual quarter in 2011.
