This analyst note compares flagship funds for select private and public PE firms to assess the impact of a public listing on a PE firm's fundraising tactics and fund performance. Using a sample of four publicly held PE firms and four privately held peers, our analysts review fund sizes, timing between fundraises, performance of flagship funds and strategy offerings for each of the firms.
