PitchBook has released its Quarterly Private Equity Breakdown Report. Powered by the PitchBook Platform, this report provides an in-depth analysis of private equity activity that occurred during the second quarter of 2012, with a focus on changes and trends that developed in investment, exit, and fundraising activity. PE investment lagged in the second quarter, compared to both the previous quarter and the same period last year, with domestic and overseas uncertainty in the economy still looming large. PE firms also face more than $430 billion in dry powder and a company inventory total topping 6,300, meaning they will have to act soon to exit investments and deploy capital before their investing window closes. This report provides more detail and data on these and other trends from the second quarter and past years.
This report includes:
A decade of U.S. PE deal flow
Investment trends by industry and region
Analysis of investments by deal size
Add-on activity since 2002
