751 Investments in Manufacturing Vertical Since 2009
August 22, 2012- Share:
Unlike PE investors, VC firms aren't generally known for their Manufacturing sector focus. However, companies in the space have still managed to snag a formidable amount of venture funding, with over $10.56 billion in venture capital flowing into the Manufacturing vertical since 2009, according to the PitchBook Platform. Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and New Enterprise Associates have made the most Manufacturing investments since 2009, participating in 21 and 13 financings, respectively. 2010 saw the most activity in the last several years, with a whopping $3.27 billion in total capital invested and 229 deals completed. This year isn't terribly far behind last year, but there's a lot of work to be done in the Manufacturing space to catch up to the well-constructed heights of 2010.
