AerCap agrees to $30B+ deal for GE's aircraft-leasing unit

Aircraft leasing giant AerCap Holdings has agreed to buy GE Capital Aviation Services, the aircraft leasing business of General Electric. Under the deal, said to be worth more than $30 billion, GE will receive $24 billion in cash, $1 billion in AerCap notes or cash, and a 46% stake in the new business. The combined company will own and manage over 2,000 aircraft, 900 engines, 300 helicopters and around 300 customers worldwide.
