Aker Horizons takes control of Mainstream Renewable Power in €1B deal

Norwegian renewable energy investor Aker Horizons, a unit of offshore engineering group Aker ASA, has agreed to take a 75% stake in Mainstream Renewable Power in a transaction that values the company at €1 billion. The deal will allow Mainstream to globally expand ahead of its planned IPO. Founded in 2008, the wind and solar company has interests across Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region and Africa, as well as in the global offshore wind sector, with over 1.2 GW of projects currently under construction.
