Healthcare diagnostics company Ortho Kinematics has inked another round of financing, closing more than $2 million in a Series B. The Austin, TX-based spine imaging company will use the capital to continue commercialization of its VMA (Vertebral Motion Analysis) technology, a platform it designed to be used in conjunction with standard fluoroscopes, which are commonly available in hospitals and clinics. The imaging technology can capture video x-ray-type images of the spine and track movement at each vertebral level. The FDA OK'd the VMA platform earlier this year. Prior investors include TEXO Ventures, Gatebridge Investments, Texas Emerging Technology Fund and PTV Sciences.
