Private equity firm Apax Partners has acquired footwear business Cole Haan from Nike (NYSE: NKE). In connection with the closing, Jack A. Boys, former CEO of Converse, has been named Cole Haan's new CEO. Based in New York and founded in 1928, Cole Haan designs and retails premium footwear and related accessories, selling its products through department stores, 108 domestic Cole Haan stores, 68 international stores across Canada, China and Japan and its online site.
