Ardian, GIP eye Suez deal

Ardian and Global Infrastructure Partners have made a friendly €11.3 billion, or €18 per share, offer to buy utility group Suez. The French waste and water management company is currently fighting a takeover bid from its rival Veolia. Suez CEO Bertrand Camus said the offer did not create job uncertainties or raise any antitrust issues. Veolia has been pursuing a stake in Suez since August, initially seeking to pay €15.50 per share, but Suez rejected the offer saying it undervalued the business.
