Avaya in talks for another ride with PE

Avaya, a telecom equipment and software provider, is considering a buyout offer from an unnamed private equity firm that would give the company an enterprise value of around $5 billion, per Reuters. Avaya exited Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and restructured its debt load at the end of 2017, nearly 10 years after TPG Capital and Silver Lake bought the Santa Clara-based company for around $8.3 billion. Shares in Avaya (NYSE: AVYA) closed Monday up 33%.
