Avista Capital Partners has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Telular (NASDAQ: WRLS) in a transaction valued at $253 million, including $18.5 million in assumed net debt. Telular shareholders will receive $12.61 per share, which represents a 31% premium. Based in Chicago, Telular provides remote monitoring and asset tracking solutions for business and residential customers, enabling security systems and industrial applications to exchange actionable information wirelessly, typically through cellular and satellite technology. SunTrust Robinson Humphrey provided a debt financing commitment for the acquisition.
