Aviva to sell Friends Provident International for £340M

Aviva has agreed to sell the Friends Provident International unit to US-based International Financial Group in a deal worth £340 million. The insurer originally acquired loss-making FPIL via the £5.6 billion takeover of Friends Life in 2015. The company has more than 500 employees globally and provides investment and protection products in Asia and the UAE.
