Aixam-Mega, a quadricycle manufacturer owned by AXA Private Equity, has been sold to Polaris (NYSE: PII). BDA advised on the transaction. Quadricycles are light-duty vehicles that don't travel at high speeds (often below 30 MPH). Aixam-Mega sold about 8,000 vehicles in 2012 through a European distribution network of about 600 retailers across 20 countries. AXA and minority co-investors Euromezzanine Conseil and Financiere Norbert Dentressangle bought out the company in 2006.
